Animikie Chert is associated with the Animikie formation of the Marquette Range subgroup (Gunflint Range, Mesabi Range, Vermilion Range, and Cuyuna Range) in Minnesota.  Primary outcropping east of Port Aruther, Ontario.  May be found throughout the Animikie Basin.
