Armuchee Chert is associated with the Frog Mountain Formation of Georgia and Tennessee.  Named for the town of Armuchee, Georgia, Armuchee Chert has primary sources in Floyd and Polk counties, Georgia.  It is commonly found in beds and nodules.  Primary outcroppings occur in Lavender Mountain, Horseley Mountain, and Frog Mountain.  Named for exposures in Armuchee, Floyd County, Georgia.
