China Chert is primarily found on the northeastern end of the Zuni Mountains, New Mexico.  The formation that this material is associated with was not provided in any found archaeological references.  However, geological references report chert bearing formations of the Zuni Mountains include the Brushy Basin Member of the Morrison Formation (also produces porcelanite), Summerville Formation, Shinarump Formation, and the Owl Rock Formation.
