Crown Point Chert is associated with the Crown Point Limestone Formation of the Chazy Group of Vermont.  Primarily occurs as nodules and small lenses in the upper portion of the formation with exposures occurring in the Adirondack lowlands and Lake Champlain lowlands as well as the Vermont Valley and Middlebury syclinorium.
