Crystal Mountain Quartz is associated with the Crystal Mountain Sandstone Formation of the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas and Oklahoma.  Occurs as veins ranging from a few inches to a few feet think in the sandstone formation.  Named for exposures in the Crystal Mountains in Montgomery County, Arkansas.  Other exposures occur in the Potato Hills and the Broken Bow Uplift in the southeastern Ouachita Mountains.
