Color:  Florence Chert Type B ranges in color from a steel gray to a bluish gray with lighter colored splotches or darker colored mottling.

Medium to fine grain

Patina: Tan to rusty brown

Heat Treatment:  Heat treatment produces colors of pink and darker mottling turning gray
