Lead Creek Chert is associated with the Lead Creek Limestone formation.  Primary outcroppings are found in western and southern Indiana and into Kentucky and Ohio.  Primary outcroppings for Lead Creek Type III are around the Lieber State Recreational area in Owen and Putnam county Indiana.
