Obsidian Ridge Obsidian is associated with the Valles Volcanics, Cerro Toledo Rhyolite Formation occurring as marekanites / nodules (up to 30 cm).  Sources extend from Cochiti Canyon to Locality Mountains, and Rabbit Mountain in the Jemez Range and extending southeast towards the Rio Grande, New Mexico.
