Phosphoria Chert is associated with the Tosi Member of the Phosphoria Formation of northeastern Utah, eastern Idaho, southern Montana, and Wyoming.  Primarily found as nodules in the eastern Big Horn Mountains.  Other outcroppings occur in the Currie Hills area of Nevada white and brown chert, Leech Mountains green chert,  and the Snake Mountains of Nevada.
