Salmon Peak Chert is associated with the Salmon Peak Formation of the Maverick Basin occurring as abundant large nodules in the upper portion of the formation with primary outcroppings occurring near Amistad Reservoir in Uvalde County Texas and extending into Coahuila Mexico.  Mapped as, and may be the same as Devils River Chert.
