Wike Chert is associated with the Fossil Hill Formation Limestone with primary sources being located on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, along the Georgian Bay Ontario, Fitzwilliam Island, and the Wikwemikong Indian Reservation, Ontario.   This is thought to be a lateral extension of the Manitoulin Island Chert.
