Point Validity:    Collector  Type

Strong was an influential avocational archaeologist who was instrumental in the development and formation of the Washington Archaeological Society.  He published several books on the archaeology of the Great Basin and the Columbia Plateau.  This type was named in his personally published book and had many collector type references.  There were no professional references to this type located.  This may be due to the limited distribution, or the rarity of the type.  This is considered a collector type.
