Beasley Bay Jasper is associated with the Kent Island Formation of Virginia and Maryland primarily occurs as nodules with primary outcroppings occurring along the Pocomoke River in Somerset County Maryland and along Beasley Bay, Accomack County, Virginia.  Beasley Bay Jasper is a secondary float source with a mixture of jaspers from other formations deposited by the ancient Potomac, Rappahannock, and York Rivers.
