Bessemer Quartzite is associated with the "Nopeming formation", Puckwunge formation, Osier Group  of northwestern Michigan and northeastern Wisconsin.  Named for Bessemer, Gogebic County, Michigan.  Primary along the Gogebic Range of Michigan and Wisconsin.  Reported in Houghton, Ontonagon, and Gogebic counties, Michigan.
