Brent Island Chert is associated with the Brent Island Limestone Formation of the St. George Group of Newfoundland and Labrador.  Occurs as abundant nodules on North and South Brent Islands on Hare Bay in northern Newfoundland.  Also occurs on Direction Island, Long Island, southwest Salmon River and White Arm Pond near Hare Bay.
