Burnt Pond Chert is associated with the Burnt Pond Formation of the Tally Pond Group of Newfoundland and Labrador occurring as bands with exposures occurring in the Victoria Lake and Burnt Pond region in central Newfoundland.  Exposures also occur in a northwest / southwest band running from Burnt Pond - Tally Pond to Lake Ambrose and Barren Lake.
