Columbus Chert is associated with the Columbus Limestone Formation of eastern and northeastern Ohio.  Primarily found between Lake Erie and Columbus, Ohio.  May be found in Crawford, Defiance, Delaware, Erie, Franklin, Henry, Lucas, Marion, Paulding, Pickaway, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Union, Wood, and Wyandot Counties, Ohio.   Fount into Indiana and Michigan.  Columbus Chert is a common and abundant chert.
