Herring Head Chert is associated with the Herring Head Formation of the Goldson Group of Newfoundland and Labrador.  Exposures occur on the Herring Head Peninsula between Pike Arm and Little Cobbs Arm and between Burnt Arm and Goldson (Goshens) Arm at Herring Head, New World Island, Notre Dame Bay.  Other exposures occur on Burnt Island.
