Laurel Run Chert is primarily associated with the Laurel Run site in Wythe County North Carolina.  The formation was unknown, but the following chert bearing formations occur in Wythe County:  Waynesboro / Rome Formation, Shady Dolomite Formation, Conococheague Formation, Beekmantown Group including Pinesburg Station Formation, Rockdale Run Formation, and the Knox Group including the Copper Ridge Member and the Chepultepec Member.  Picture shown on this page appears to be Conococheague Chert.
