Califon Chert is associated with the Califon Member of the Leithsville Formation primarily occurring as nodules.  Primary exposures occur near Califon, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  Formation occurs throughout the southern New York, New Jersey, and eastern Pennsylvania.
