Lisburne Chert is associated with the Lisburne Limestone Group of northern Alaska and into the Yukon.  Primarily occurs as nodules and lenses in the limestone formation and is one of the most chert bearing formations in the Brooks Range.  Outcroppings occur in a belt extending from Barn Mountains to the Kugunuok, River, Kelley River, and Wulik River in the western DeLong Mountains.  Also occurs in the Lisburne Hills, Junjik, East Fork Chandalar, and Skeenjek rivers as well as Cape Lisburne, Alaska.
