Mines Chert is associated with the Mines Dolomite Member of the Gatesburg Formation of central Pennsylvania (Blair to Center counties).  Primary outcroppings occur on the north end of Long Ridge southeast of Williamsburg, Blair County, Pennsylvania.  Also occurs in Centre and Huntingdon counties, Pennsylvania.
