Ontelaunee Chert is associated with the Ontelaunee Formation of the Beekmantown Group of southeastern Pennsylvania and into New Jersey.  Primary outcroppings occur along the Schuykill River 1 mile southeast of Leesport, Berks County, Pennsylvania also reported in Lebanon, Dauphin, and Lancaster counties, Pennsylvania.
