Color: Otuk Formation Chert is banded ranging from tan to light or dark gray.

Texture:
Fine grain

Luster: Dull

Silica Fabrics / Fossils:  Otuk Formation chert has a high level of recrystalized radiolaria.

Otuk Formation Chert is associated with the Otuk Formation of the north central foothills of the Brooks range.  The primary source is the foothills of the Endicott Mountains from the Anaktuvuk River west to the Kuna River area.
