Toronto Chert is associated with the Toronto Limestone Member of the Oread Formation of the Shawnee Group of Kansas and into Oklahoma, Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri.  Primary outcroppings occur in Stranger Creek drainages of western Leavenworth County, Kansas
