Distribution Comments:

Vienna Chert is associated with the Vienna Formation of southern Illinois and western Kentucky.  Outcroppings occur along the entire boarder of the Western Coal Fields of Kentucky and into Illinois and Indiana and around Vienna, Johnson County, Illinois.
