Morse is an anthropologist who was a professor at the University of Arkansas.  He served as an archaeologist for the Arkansas Archaeological Survey.  This point was named in a professional publication and has many professional references.  This is considered a valid type.  
Big Creek Corner Notch

Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:
This is a small to medium corner notch point with a flattened to elliptical cross section.  The blade is broad and primarily excurvate and may take on a pentagonal appearance on some examples.  The tip is commonly angled inwards to form a mucronate or “needle” tip.  The shoulders barbed and may vary from a slight barb to long barbs.  Wide corner notches form an expanding with a convex base.  The stem is usually short and wide and will have an ovoid or bulbous appearance.  Basal grinding is usually present and very light.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

This point is similar to the Snyders and Affis Snyders point.  It can be distinguished from these points by a narrower notch than will be seen on the Snyders points.  This point is similar to the Big Slough point, but is smaller.  This point may be difficult to distinguish from smaller Big Slough points. (W11).

These points are primarily found in northeastern Arkansas, eastern Arkansas Ozarks, and into southeastern Missouri.  This point may be found with decreased frequency into northeastern Oklahoma and southern Illinois.
