Description of Physical Characteristics and Flaking Pattern:

This is a medium contracting stem triangular with an elliptical cross section.  The blade is short and wide, but always longer than the stem, and may range from excurvate to straight.  The shoulders are prominent and commonly slightly barbed, but may vary to horizontal.  The stem is contracting with a convex base and rarely display grinding.  This type is made using percussion flaking to rough out then well controlled percussion flaking or pressure flaking is used to shape and sharpen the point.  This point has a random flaking pattern.

Size Measurements:  Length - 35 to 65 mm (average 49 mm), Stem Length - 6 to 25 mm (average 16 mm),  Blade Width - 21 to 56 mm (average 30 mm), Stem Width -11 to 24 mm (average 17 mm),  Thickness - 4 to 11 mm (average 8 mm)

This type has been reported in Tehuacan Valley, the Valley of Mexico, Cueva de la Nopalera, Hidalgo, and into southern Tamaulipas, Mexico.
