Loyd Doty notes:
SAN PATRICE-KISATCHIE (Auriculate) – was defined by Sherwood M. Gagliano and Hiram F. Gregory for examples recovered from sites on Bayou Kisatchie in the Kisatchie National Forest in Rapides Parish, Louisiana. They are medium sized (2 ½” to 3”), projectiles and knives with short hafting areas created by placement of elongated side indentations that create ears on the bases. Stem sides and bases are ground. Blade edges are often serrated. Distribution is believed to include Louisiana, Mississippi and they were in use during the Early Archaic period. Reference: Gagliano, S.M., & H.F. Gregory 1965 A Preliminary Survey of Paleo-Indian Points from Louisiana. Louisiana Studies 4(1):62-77. Natchitoches.
